Not much to talk about, it’s just Friday and I’m heading home any minute now. I wanted just wanted to have something other than my quiz post as the first post over the weekend since I’m not likely to post anything until monday night.
Er, I guess I could mention that the Inkrott X-mas party is going on tomorrow. I’m just not in the mood for Christmas mirth though. Maybe a xmas “skin” for the site is in order. I’ll see how artsy I feel tomorrow.
This post is for my mom, ever mindful of my grammatical/spelling errors. I know what you’re thinking, a test of your grammar skillz on the Internet? What’s the average score? 2/10? Anyway take it and see if you can beat my 9/10. No looking stuff up, either, you cheaters!! Props if you guess which one I got wrong.
I’ve been moved into my new home at Ball. Somewhat cozy, but cramped is more accurate and forget about privacy. There’s plenty of traffic that comes by here, and I feel like a card being held by some poker noob that hasn’t a clue that everyone at the table can see me. This is especially annoying as it has caused people to stop and ask me about my new digs every 5 minutes.
I got some good news from Vance today, however. He said I’ll likely be moved back to the 2nd floor, i.e. the CTSG section of the building, seeing as I’m a member of that group. It’s cause for hope at least, although there’s no telling when this move might occur. I’m not entirely sure at this point whether the conversation was something I dreamed up entirely, or just an empty promise to keep me motivated. :/
I was supposed to move to my new half-size cubicle yesterday, but thankfully that didn’t happen. It still will unfortunately; the movers are just behind. The delay allows me to be in an office with a door for at least one more day. I call the cubicle half-size because I’ll be sharing it with my new co-worker Mark. Mark’s ok, but I think he’s one of those guys that actually trys. I hate those guys.
Anyway, time to go back to quasi-productivity. Can’t get much started because I don’t know when I’ll move. Maybe now, maybe this afternoon, maybe next week. I haven’t a clue.
Played Catan with Kip, Chris, and ‘Tone at work today after work. It took awhile as it always does with noobs, but I think they’re all hooked. Or at least they will be if we can get games done in around an hour.
Like the Dolphins, I too am collapsing in December. Last week I went 6-10 in my picks and this week the best case scenario is that I’ll go just above .500. Assuming Carolina shapes up and stops Vick, and St. Louis doesn’t lay an egg. Yeah, I picked against the Browns. It’s all about the draft picks after the Pittsburgh crapfest two weeks ago. 9-7 doesn’t sound bad until you realize that everyone above me probably got at least 10 right, sending me further behind. *sigh* second place seems like a distant memory.
I’m afraid that by posting this I’ll jinx myself, and it’ll come back to bite me in the butt. But what the heck. The re-caulking job appears to be a success. The caulk I put in is firm and dry now, and I decided it was safe to remove the saran wrap tonight. It ain’t pretty…if I end up being forced to do it over again I’ll put a backing rod in first like the caulk packages suggested for large gaps. I have a feeling that not having to use a ton of caulk will make that perfect curve shape easier to pull off.
I’ve felt victory in other things this week as well. Namely Double Dash. Joel, Allen, and Rob came over Thursday night for alcohol and Mario Kart. T3h kicker is that most of my alcohol was paid for by my $20 Meijer gift card I got from Ball for xmas. ^_^ I kicked in an extra $5 and walked off with 18 bottles of Smirnoff. I got more Kart action tonight at the gaming guild, but t3h competition was lacking. I also won at Catan, which took up most of the evening, despite some confusion over the rules. I still swear that the robber doesn’t come out during the first round! I’ll find that rule back eventually! I’m not crazy! Also, it doesn’t allow for it in the rules, but total randomness is still the way to go for me. None of this water and ports being put around the outside so they can always be used.
Eh, like I said, I won anyway, which means it was still fun for me ^_^, and it wasn’t my copy that was being used, so I didn’t force the issue. Ok, time to finish the laundry and go to bed. It’s been a long night. *yawn*
