Wedding Vacation Wedding

Tag: Amusing LinksJohn @ 1:42 am

Francie and I are taking off for a wedding followed by a vacation followed by a wedding tomorrow. It’s going to be quite the trip. Here’s the family circus style route we have planned.  Francie’s cousin’s wedding is in Kalamazoo, then we’re going to explore Chicago and visit her two friends that live there.  Maybe we can find these guys. ^_^ Then it’s back to Toledo for Laura’s wedding and home again.

Jim graduated two weeks ago and I’ve been meaning to mention that I have pictures up on my flickr account. Pictures like this one:

Controversial Tees

If we’re teaching intelligent design on the same level as evolution, we might as well give other “controversies” the same treatment.

Weddings and Testings

Tag: Exhausted,PicsJohn @ 4:08 pm

Well that was an exhausting weekend. Two more weddings down, four more to go this year. Francie’s cousin Mike got hitched on Friday, but we couldn’t make the reception because we had to go to a rehearsal as Francie was a bridesmaid in her friend Ruthie’s wedding on Saturday.

I didn’t get any good pictures on Friday, but I do have some more pictures from Saturday. They aren’t that good either but I decided to keep them.

I got to relax a bit on Sunday but I kept worrying about the final for my Computational Complexity class that I’m worried I’ll fail.  I tried to study but the material doesn’t lend itself to studying.  Once you’ve done a problem the solution is obvious and you can’t easily translate a solution for one problem to another.  The only thing I could really do was gather material for notes since it was open notes and open book.  I felt like I did well on the final, but I don’t know if it’ll be good enough to get a decent grade after falling apart on the midterm.  At least I finished the whole test instead of just a third of it this time.

Big Room, Big Bed

Tag: General,Tech TalkJohn @ 10:50 pm

Thanks to some help from some friends and their backs, I picked up some nice bedroom furniture Sunday on the cheap. A co-worker was moving out to AZ and didn’t want to haul large heavy oak bedroom furniture with her so I picked up a nice headboard with a king sized bed, some tall night stands, and a dresser. It’s all heavy solid oak stuff so I hope I don’t end up moving anytime soon myself. :)

You can’t make it out from the picture, but the headboard has some nice extras including a built in power strip and lights.
