Just a quick post to let everyone know that I hate pointers, and I gotta finish a program today before I go to Megan’s party. This program uses pointers to pointers and void pointers. Evil void pointers!! Alright, back to work.
I’ve gotten several tidbits of good news to report in the past twenty four hours. Here it is in the order I received it: Meredith’s found a place to fix the door for us and plans to take it there and get it fixed tomorrow. Whew, that took a weight off my shoulders. ^_^ My glasses have been ordered and should come in the mail Wednesday…ish. I’m almost done with 360 labs forever!! The same goes for my dinky stats project. Finally, Jeremy and I went over to Jason’s tonight. Good times were had, and I broke my losing streak in catan! Finally, Toni and I are going to start and finish our 434 projects tomorrow night. That’s not a prediction, it’s a fact. Probably. The only bad news is that I’m still fighting off a cold. One minute I’m fine and the next I’m hacking up a lung. It’s not giving up without a fight.
Besides failing to rid myself of the name “rookie” at work, things are going fairly well. I started delivering on Tuesday, and you know what that means… John can’t brag about all his Takeout Taxi excursions anymore, ‘cuz I get to deal with morons now too! Actually, it was kind of nice. The wind rushing through my hair and carrying the rain to my apparently too dry face, the joy of having someone writing a check out for the exact amount and smiling as I say, “Have a nice night”, visiting the “colorful” parts of Ottawa after dark. Not having a radio in the car allows me to fully enjoy the mysterious yet comforting sounds that the “experienced” autmoblies emit. After enduring all of these nuisances I ended up with about $12 in tips on seven deliveries. Well, I have one last exam on my last day of school. For once, I’m fairly confident I won’t be in school tomorrow longer than John. Tomorrow night, we burn the school-related papers and light fireworks… in Indiana… where we have a cabin. (The preceding comments were extremely sarcastic and were stated simply to appease the local authorites. You heard nothing about anything.) I’m out.
My boss Don’s setting me up for an interview with another department at work that could lead to a full time position. If I get the job, I’ll probably split my hours this summer working for Don half the time and for them the other half. I’ll probably start out doing documentation, but you gotta start somewhere. Another bonus is that they’re working on simulation, which is something I find interesting. Now I gotta do my Stats project though, which is most definately not interesting. Boring with a capital B.
I feel a lot better today. Most importantly, I feel better physically. My cold’s going away. My throat’s still sore from all the coughing and stuff, but I’m pretty sure I don’t have SARS. (lame reference, I know) I also have less stress now that I got the new lease signed in the morning so I’ve done my part on that. I won’t relax completely until Brandon and Matt have signed it though. I’ve also convinced myself that I shouldn’t have to worry about the broken glass/plastic/transparent stuff panel on our door. Meredith can and will take care of it in the next week or two. I trust her. I’m also feeling better about homework. I’m enjoying the presentations in 335 because I’m done with mine already. They are extremely boring, so I’m not enjoying them so much as the fact that I’m done with mine. I spent most of the rest of the day doing my 360 lab. Designing a microprocessor is a lot of work! >_<
I also went over to Jason’s tonight. We were going to get some cataan in but I got over there later than I had hoped to and…yeah. I just wasn’t feelin’ it so I didn’t take the lead. Sorry guys, but you should have just made me if you really wanted to play… Props to Jason on recovering my settlement! ^_^ We just geeked out for a couple hours instead and that was cool with me.
Well, time for some HiberNol and then bed.
I’d like to help out anyone who may want to buy me an early birthday present.
