Climate Change

“And Summer turned back into Winter…and Winter gave Spring and Summer a miss and went straight on into Autumn.”
Yeah, it’s been a bit cold this past week. Coming home after class at 9 makes that particularly clear.

Javascript Tinkering

Check out the new menus I put up for the archives. I think they really help eliminate the clutter. The way I had it with two columns definitely sucks in comparison. Now if I could find someone to make me an avatar on the cheap, I’d be really happy.

Fly Me a Game

Tag: GeneralJohn @ 9:57 am

Been meaning to post about this Gamefly thing for awhile now. It’s basically netflix for games. You subscribe to the service for $21.95 a month, and they send you two games out of your “GameQ,” a list of games you want to rent. When you send those two back in the postage paid envelope provided, they’ll send the next two in your list out. You can also pay a discounted, used game price and keep a game (or just skip the renting and buy a used game). Sounds pretty cool to me, think I’ll sign up for a free trial when things slow down.

The Comforts of Home

It’s nice to go back home. There isn’t much to do, but that’s a good thing.

Couch Starts

Tag: UncategorizedJohn @ 6:02 pm

Woohoo!! I get to wear my number 2 jersey this weekend!! The puma jersey I got back in ‘99 has been a steady tradition on fall Sundays, interrupted by what I believe may become known as “Butch’s Folly.” Holcomb’s officially out with his sore ankles though this week so Couch will get the stat boost from beating the Bengals, not him.

Dwarf Toss Defense

This dwarf toss defense that GreenMtnDog describes intrigues me. His predictions are always a good read.

Yet Another Reason to use Macs

Tag: Amusing LinksJohn @ 11:43 am

It seems the RIAA made a tiny mistake in one of their 262 lawsuits. They accused a Mrs. Ward of sharing 2000+ songs on Kazaa. The 66 year old “computer neophyte” (sorry for the redundancy)uses a Macintosh computer at home, a platform which does not have any of the Kazaa P2P network software available. I’d personally like to see someone sue the RIAA for slander/libel/something on her behalf because it seems the RIAA has nothing to lose otherwise.
RIAA: “I’m suing you for file sharing! Pay up, thief!!”
Hobo: “I don’t even own a computer. Got any spare change?”
College student with slightly more money than hobo: “I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong, but I can’t afford to fight it in court, so here’s everything I’ve got. Please don’t hurt me!!”
