Damn it’s f*cking early. Got to bed late last night because staying up late friday and saturday rekindled old habits. Guess I gotta make myself go to bed before midnight tonight no matter what. No sealab, no Inuyasha. No fun at all for John until I catch up on sleep.

Yes, only the power of fark and google are at your fingertips, which is plenty as long as you don’t want to go to any links provided by these sites.

Days are so much longer when you get to bed 2 hours late the night before, and all you can think about at work is getting home to work on your new pc some more.
Allen and I couldn’t salvage my old windows install on my HD. Windows just didn’t like being put on a new mobo and threw up when starting up. So I have to reinstall all my old programs, including the very uncooperative Gemstar TV guide program. That’s going to be tons of fun. Also on the agenda tonight is getting something to split 4-pin power connectors as we used all the ones from the power supply up and I need two more. One for the case’s fan controler (fan speed up, fan slow down, fan speed up… simple entertainment!) and possibly another for my zip drive. Looks like i’ll have enough to keep me busy until 2AM again.

QT training at work today and all this week. Good stuff. Maybe I’ll make a more detailed post about it tomorrow at work if I get done with some labs early.

Wednesday is officially John’s new PC day. Assuming Allen has time to lend a hand in putting this bad boy together. Man, I kinda feel sad looking at that bad ass case being all empty and unused.

P.S. Diet’s going pretty well with swimming introduced to the regimen. Down to 210 from roughly 225 when I started. The goal is under 200 by the time Jim gets down here.

Spotted a cool case I want today, so it’s time to start saving my lunch money for my PC upgrade:
new kickass, well ventilated Al case: $80
new mobo to replace charred old one: $100
new Athlon 2800 XP: $120
512 MB RAM: $100 (possibly delayed until ready to build spare PC)
New 128 MB video card: $100-150
total: $500
no more meltdowns jacking up my cooling bill: priceless
