What a weekend! Had a normal Friday family dinner with the crew, then I went with Tone to catch Drake’s band, Late Nite Drivers. We got there at 10 when they were supposed to play. Problem was, no one else was there yet and because of that the band before them hadn’t started yet. Said group had an hour set so the drivers wouldn’t be up until 11. Waited a bit for the first group to start playing… waited some more… 10:30 comes around and no one’s gone up on stage yet. We decided to cut our losses at $5 and 30 minutes of our time.
Got back and the rest of our group was watching Sideways. Yet another shitty oscar movie. So Friday wasn’t great, but we were miserable together. ^_^
Got a late start on Saturday unfortunately. I’m just starting to be able to get up at a decent hour with my new pillows. I’ve slept well with them, just too well and too deeply it would seem. Anyway, I spent close to 4 hours on the road Saturday heading home to drop Jim off and then up to Wauseon to help Ben and Theresa with their project, and then back to Ottawa again of course. I’m glad I could help out because the sooner they can move an hour closer to me the better. I just wish I could get the sawdust out of these shoes.
Made it back in Dayton for some tennis and La Rosa’s on Sunday, but no swimming. >_< Extended Sunday started off with cleaning the bathroom (wish I knew how I was losing so much goddamn hair). Then Luda introduced Jim and me to First Watch breffas. Little too upscale for breffas if you ask me, but it was goooood. After that we played tennis until it rained, which meant no swimming...again. >_< Luda fired up the sunbeam for a cookout, but it didn’t placate me at all. It took some NHL ‘99 to sooth my frustrations.
I don’t know how this snuck under my radar until now, but there’s a Mario DDR game coming out for the cube this fall. I’ll finally drop under the century mark with all the moving I’ll do for that game.
I pity the people who live in the apartment underneath us though. :/
My apologies if you’ve read this already as it’s apparently been around the intarweb for 5 years and was featured on TechTV. That said, I give you Redneck Neighbor.
Well, it’s been a week without posting. Should have lots to write about. I would if I didn’t forget half of it. Work occupied most of my thoughts, and I finally got around to taking care of that 401k stuff… Long story short it was one of those situations where I put if off and then it was embarrassing to do anything about it because of how long it had taken… Well, it’s done now and my latest widget at work is nearly working. The bugs should be worked out in time for our June deadline.
Once the weekend arrives, all thoughts of work leave my brain. Especially this weekend. ROTS friday night with Jason and Remy was well worth the wait. I loved every minute of it and all the whiny fans of the first trilogy can suck my balls because I enjoyed this trilogy as much as the first.
Then the magnificence of Call of Duty LAN Day III: Celebrating Kix’s Rafting Trip. Despite confusion caused by a shortage of cords and plugs, setup was much quicker this time around, allowing us to get more killing in sooner. ^__^ And thanks to luda’s new stats tracker, my love of grenades and all things explosive was quantified with cold hard numbers.
Speaking of numbers, I need about 800 z’s after another electronic lock-in.
Came across these amusing editorials of a Japanese School Teacher yesterday. Some funny stuff, some weird stuff, and then some really weird stuff. Enjoy.
Someone should really set him up with a blog though. I respect the plain html editing, but creating separate webpages and manually linking them is so 1996.
Friday: got fishing supplies at dick’s closing sale. hung out at home. meh.
Saturday: went fishing at Rainbow Lakes. It sucked. It costs $11 to fish there apparently and we didn’t catch a damn thing. The weather wasn’t that good either. >_<
Sunday: played tennis, which was awesome as always. Then we had a cookout at Luda’s followed by yet another outstanding Family Guy. And American Dad wasn’t that bad either. It’s a gentle let down from the comedic high of the griffins.
