Cats and Their Bathroom Etiquette

Tag: GeneralJohn @ 11:59 pm

So on the way back to work after a good first watch breffas Tone and I got on the subject of how cats instinctively cover up their poop. Don’t know how it happened to come up as I still don’t have a clue how Tone’s brain works sometimes. I do know he has an affinity for poop stories… and cats.

So anyway, he specifically wondered how they developed this instinctual habit. This is a good question. An odd topic but still something I’m sure most people who have seen young kittens spontaneously decide to use a litter box have wondered about this. We’ll probably never know the answer, but here’s some ideas on the subject. :D

Keep asking the big questions, Tone. :D

I Can Search for Stuff on the Internet Too

I’m not interested in the meat of this article, but the following quote drives home how stupid executives can be.

The teens also resented being “ambushed” by incoming calls that pushed their minutes up. Ms. Harris says that led U.S. Cellular to offer unlimited “call me” minutes.

That thought never came to you asswipes before? Making the sender and the receiver of a call pay (via ‘minutes’) might be a stupid idea?

SUB WABAC

Tag: Blog News, Tech TalkJohn @ 5:17 pm

Came across a link to my old dynamic dns url via Technorati today and decided to click on it. Yeah, some spammer decided to snatch it up. Thought I’d mention it.

Also, while I was traversing through the archives of SUB today I found my archive pages were being cut off at x posts instead of displaying all of the posts for the month or category, instead breaking them into separate pages. I have several problems with this. First, I don’t like my archives being divided into pages period. Second, I don’t have next page links in my custom templates. Third, the links in the default templates don’t work! WTF? I’ll check the mod_rewrite rules, but if they aren’t mucking it up I don’t know what’s wrong. My apologies to anyone who was already suffering going through my old crap.

Good Natured Ribbing

Tag: Amusing Links, Stuff That Grinds My GearsJohn @ 2:45 pm

Jason found a great site with “ribbons” for your car to make fun of other people’s ribbons. Be sure and check out this site and laugh with me at those people who need to show how they’re better than other people because they support charity x by purchasing magnetic emblems. Seriously, there’s something to be said for actually volunteering or quietly donating money in private without drawing attention to oneself. The only reason I can see for purchasing these ribbons instead of donating to a cause directly is for vanity and so many people have them that even that you can’t feel superior unless you have several huge ones.

Anyway, be sure to check out some of the custom creations. The dyslexic ones get me every time.

Just a Few Pictures

Tag: General, PicsJohn @ 12:32 am

I’m ashamed at the lack of pictures we took this year. I mean we never get a lot, but this year made other years look like we had… Ansil Adams. Damn, I use that alot for photography references. Anyway, be sure to notice the broken rod in one picture. I’m amazed the line stayed intact. (O.O)
