Name, Rank, and Serial Number
The hiring process has become more and more of an interrogation lately. The city of Bozeman, Montana is asking job applicants for their social network logins and passwords. My first reaction is “um, what?”. My second reaction: “wait, the passwords too?!?” Finally, only three lines? I’d need a full page front and back writing in cheat sheet notecard font if I actually felt like writing out all the urls of sites I have logins on.

Swoopo Scamo
In case you haven’t heard of Swoopo, it’s a penny auction/gambling/complete scam website. It’s gambling in that the odds of you actually winning the auction are very low and it’s a scam because the payout should you actually win is even lower. Swoopo can easily make well over $10,000 on an auction for a $1000 item. Yep, sounds like gambling to me. Really, really bad gambling.
